Freeware programs can be downloaded used free of charge and without any time limitations. Freeware products can be used free of charge for both personal and professional (commercial use).
This license is commonly used for video games and it allows users to download and play the game for free. Basically, a product is offered Free to Play (Freemium) and the user can decide if he wants to pay the money (Premium) for additional features, services, virtual or physical goods that expand the functionality of the game. Atlas Ti Mac Download
This software is no longer available for the download. This could be due to the program being discontinued, having a security issue or for other reasons.
Basic knowledge of Mac computers and a Mac computer with ATLAS.ti version 22 installed (demo or full version). You can purchase ATLAS.ti or download the free trial version here. Although the vast majority of skills will transfer across operating systems, we will use the current Mac version for all demonstrations. Attendees might not be able to directly follow along on a PC during some workshop segments as the PC version of ATLAS.ti has a slightly different interface. Having a dual monitor set-up is recommended but not required (with two monitors you can have the Zoom window open on one monitor and be working through the exercises on another monitor). One of the 15 participants will win a single-user student or educational license.

Thomas Muhr has a site with several links connected to his ATLAS.ti qualitative data analysis software. Version 5 is very user friendly and flexible. Allows coding and annotation of text, images, and many formats of audio and video, and html pages. Has a network mapping feature for visual display. Solid search features. Alas, there is no Mac version, though ATLAS.ti will run on Macs using virtual PC software. You can download and try-put the demo program (about 6 megabytes in size) to get a feel for the product. A student version costs $175, a single educational version of ATLAS.ti costs $470, higher ($950) for non-educational users

nVivo, version 7 allows editing of documents as you code (which most programs do not) and well as font colors (via rich text format file format). It is Windows only, no Mac version. You can download a trial version from the QSR site. A student version is of NVivo 7 is $200, a single educational version is $400. It not only facilitates keyword searches from multiple word and excel docs but also have great features such as coding (easy) to conduct a qualitative analysis.
